So the whole bench starts to vibrate, and this doesn't just happen once. Every time you go, someone shaking his leg, or they can't stop fidgeting with his hands and try to, some try even to get you to notice this, as they bang the coffee cup or tea spoons, They can't stop their constantly playing with themselves somehow or smoking or this kind of thing. So I would prefer to be like Japanese mobster in the 1950s and to take meth if you're going to be this way. One sign of nobility of the Japanese and the Germans is their love of stimulants compared to how other people love downers.

What bothered me the last two days or so is this very common argument, you see this on the right, regarding democracy, this argument that goes roughly like, okay, democracy is fake, it is dumb, and so we can just eventually replace it with a king and court and a private cabinet in powdered wigs doing secret aristocratic politics, or some updated version of this. And I mean no disrespect to Moldbug, or to many old friends who I've had a new reaction from even before.

Or a second option, I believe, about democracy is that, well, even if you don't re-establish that, you can try to infiltrate current elites. Or a third option is that you can ignore politics completely and to live removed literary lives and to hope merely to influence culture for the future. I don't agree with any of these three rightist options because I believe Trump, Orban, Salvini and even more than them, Bolsonaro from Brazil and Duterte in Philippines have already shown another path, which is why many neo-reactionaries and others who rejected democracy, nevertheless they embraced Trump in 2016, and in general they embraced the new populist movements, which are of course very democratic. The neo-reactionaries are very opposed to democracy, and they believe actually democracy

is impossible in principle, and does not exist now, not really. And I agree with them about both things because of course all the major decisions are taken behind closed doors for private interest and they are taken against both popular will and against the health of the people. The people does not really enter into it, any of major political decisions taken. And I agree with that and they are also right that neither now nor in degenerated republics nor under, let's say, ideal conditions of direct democracy, let's say if you did have direct democracy like in ancient essence, but not even then would the people as such directly ever rule. Elites always rule. They are right about this, or elites of some kind, but that is a theoretical point, and

the practical conclusions that neo-reaction and other rightists, the Catholic reactionaries and so forth. The practical conclusions they draw are, I think, wrong, because they go beyond this claim that democracy is stupid and that it doesn't even exist, that it's hypocritical, and they go beyond that and they claim two other false things. The first is that you must therefore target elites for influence or for education, or put it whatever way you will, but that the way to overcome the modern beast government and to turn it to your side is to insinuate your mind into some portion of the elite or to infiltrate it. But unless you're talking, as I am in my book, in fourth part, unless you're talking only

about the military and security establishment that could even then act only under conditions of extreme crisis in your favor, and as a rule, aside from that, these things are not Not possible, I think, to influence elite in the modern world in the long run. Because in an attempt to infiltrate elite long term, I mean, let's say anything over 10 years or a generation, whether you do it through a secret society or through something like the Marxist stride with a long march through the institutions, this will not work for the right wing. I say this many times before. You cannot do Long March because they did that already, they are wise to that, they are on their guard, they will not let you do it. Furthermore, they've already created an atmosphere of hysteria and demancation such

So the whole concept of private instruction and transmission to a person, it's risky, it's not really possible to do in highly charged, modern, woke situation, which is almost Stalinist in its hysteria. In the long run, it's more likely the leftist establishment will infiltrate and co-opt you than the other way around. It will brainfuck any secret society or secret school.

As indeed it has already, anyone who's tried this has failed. And if you go to the other strategy, let's say, you want to change minds of elite, right? So you go to the other strategy. Not a secret society, but an ideology or doctrine targeted to the elite. I say this also very unlikely, because no brain virus that you can come up with can change the minds of the people in charge of modern states and media. It's like trying to change the mind of a woman who's cheating on you, who blames it on you, and you hope to change her mind by engaging with her about the substance of her arguments, which of course is a parody of a cuck. But it's true in general of conservatives and of the right. It's cucked because they try what I just told you with a political collection that uses

them, that cares nothing for them, that keeps them around merely as an ornament or as a gay man's beard. And their actions and their way of life, I don't mean the conservatives, I mean the people and the so-called elite, their actions are not caused by their thoughts or beliefs but the other way around. So an inconsistent and senseless ideology of modern humanitarian liberal equal rights and all of this and Rolzianism, this has been constructed after the fact to fit their actions or rather to cover up their actions, which is why intellectually it will never make any sense in the first place, the modern ideology. It's not genuinely believed. It's not worth arguing with. And there is no path essentially to reforming modern political life through influence of

so-called modern elites, which I've called rather an occupational class, that is promoted because they make good eunuchs for their handlers. And their handlers, who are their handlers? You can't even approach them, let alone convince them. You have no access. Their handlers are a small international oligarchy, the oligarchy of international finance. basically this entire machine runs by a few hundred or a few thousand individuals whose names you only know, you do not know them, in the exception you might know one or two such names. But such people, they care about money and power, not ideas. So aside maybe from the hope of putting your own people in parts of the military or the security state, which is the Putinist option and is not quite the same as secret society

or infiltration, it's a little bit different. I've encouraged this consistently, as the best and the only way. But aside from that, the only remaining path to any reform must be through the people. And in any case, it's impossible to ignore this element of the people, even in the event of a military coup, because the people still have to be mobilized. Even then, you need not just a general, but a popular general. Some among you are suited to different paths, some to demagogic activity, others to military or security state work, but some will have to be able to move the people to great passions. have to resort to the people and to become more democratic than the Democrats. You can win with the people and the military only, maybe even with the people only, but not without them. Ernst Junger or Ernst von Salomon, conservative reactionaries on who I did shows already, or Stefan Georg or Karl von Stauffenberg who did not just talk, but who took action to stop Nazism, but they did not do so in the name of democracy or of internationalism, but of German authoritarian nationalism.

Because they were what neo-reactionaries and I at bottom can agree in liking. They were elite men, true elites in this case, not just of noble lineage, but naturally superior men who in another world they could have maybe taken charge of helm of Germany and of Europe and have given the world a viable right-wing alternative to communism and to Anglo-American international capitalism and to everything else that came from that, that is turning the world into a slum or into a global tenement, as Carl Schmitt called it. In general, the German military and the conservatives, the Prussian Junger class, the German aristocratic hard right, had the most tremendous contempt for the Nazis. It called them street refugees, street urgents, and this.

And I would have maybe supported a Z faction if I was there. For a long time, I walked around looking up to that group, the Ernst Junger and Ernst von Solomon types. I like to think of myself as spiritually and intellectually descended from them, as I'm sure many other anti-democratic rights from them and from perhaps others in the 19th century, but ultimately I come to somewhat a different view and it's rather depressing because a Z faction and also the monarchists, they could not mobilize the people as well as Hitler did. This is not a moral judgment, a simple historical political fact. The Nazis could mobilize the people, is what matters. This is the big weakness of elitist anti-democratic right. In a modern state, you need the people more than they need you.

And you even take the case of a Catholic dictator like Franco, and he also in large part had to embrace populism to win. And to stay winning, he had to put on excited showy popular rallies and so on. I've posted some before rousing demagogic rhetoric. You have to be a demagogue to win its only path for the right, it's the only path for anyone in the modern world. Because who can mobilize the workers, the working class, the working people? Who has the most motivating vision for them will win. It still decides everything in the end, politically. I give other examples, forgive if I repeat, but this universal phenomenon for far, I don't want to say far right wing, but for even traditionalist right, aristocratic right, the true ones, they become populist once society turns democratic.

In Western states, you don't have that. But the point remains that modern states are set up explicitly to be against an organic and hierarchical existence of a people or a group. So the idea that you try to ingratiate yourself to the elites of existing democracies as a rightist is absurd. You're not going to convince Paul Singer. These people are the caretakers of a system designed to suppress and extirpate you. Imagine trying to teach principles of the right or of natural order and beauty to Janet Napolitano or to Chuck Schumer. Imagine trying to convince the wheeler and operator, Dr. Fauci, of the true purpose of science. Of course democracy doesn't exist, but that doesn't mean that as neoreactionists or integralists

or others think that then there's this moment where an actual elite worthy of the name is actually ruling, who are open to indoctrination or education. That does not hold. Nor does it mean that there can be any transition to this. It means two things instead. It means for now the worst have risen to the top and that modern so-called democracies elevate garbage to rule. That is well known. But the second meaning of democracy not possibly existing is that at least in principle the The will of the people is supreme, they have to at least pay lip service to that. And therefore, the truer a democracy comes to be practiced, it means that a class of men who can rouse up the people with unspeakable passions can come to rule.

The great speaker, or the man of mesmerizing charisma, who can move the people, he can come to rule. Deep down you know I am anti-democratic, but you cannot leap from where we are to the re-establishment of Sparta or of 17th century government. You need to seduce the people, and especially the women among the people. It doesn't mean that you need to be like Hitler, who by the way rose to power with

the woman vote entirely, that's who he seduced to rule Germany. You don't need to want to engage in crimes or whatever excesses of the Nazis, and of course I'm aware that is a different kind of role playing. You see, our reason, this Greek view is not my view, I am only repeating the text. You see, our reason is only a remote copy of this inner primordial intelligence of chaos, as I see it. And from this primordial will or being or chaos, vitality, from this emerges the principle of Nemesis. Nemesis being the principle that will always return things, even the other gods, it will always return things to the uncanny, vital fire that burns through life. It burns through societies and individuals. Nemesis will always reassert this force, this return to the energy, the fire of the primordial order to any merely human arrangement to contain it. The fire will take to it and burn it down. It will not let bugmen populate the earth and reproduce on it like cockroaches without end. The time is coming.

But let me return in a moment to some theories about the titans. Nemesis is coming. From Union of Gaia and Uranus, from Union of Earth and Sky, Hesiod says from copulation of this are born many monsters, including the monstrous titans, the first gods. And there are 12 of them. I'm not going to read you all the names. Many of you know them, but Cronus is the one who castrates and overthrows his father, Sky, and who then gives birth to the Olympians with his sister. And even it entered popular culture. You have movie 13th Warrior.

I read actually a very funny review once where a feminist was very upset this movie promoted this line I just told you where the Vikings who are patriarchal and worship the sky made alliance with an Arab who played by Antonio Banderas who also worship a sky god. And so they band together to fight this prehistoric tribe that lives inside cave and worship a mother goddess. And this got feminists very angry, alliance of the sky god father worshiping people against the mother goddess matriarchs. It's old story, it's same story that Maria Gimbutas tells you about old Europe before the Aryan migrations ensued heaven. worshipping fertility, worshipping farmers, and in other cases, like Scandinavia, there

And of course, transmitted to Christianity in Saint George and the dragon and so forth. I'm not saying anything you don't know, but I think this is possible to explain what Titan means in ancient Greek lore, why it was different from Olympians, that they represented the pantheon of an old pre-Greek farming people that were conquered. But I think there's something people don't realize about this, which is how important Many of these older gods actually were to the Greeks, both in terms of secret cults and psychologically. Maybe even more important than Olympians everybody knows.

I know I make a very controversial claim now, but it might be true, because it is not the symbolic residue of any social or political human history, such as one society conquering another. I believe this is a real tale told in remote antiquity at the beginning of a new civilizational cycle when humanity emerged from catastrophe. Because as this happened, there were beings from inside the earth, monstrous and large beings. Lovecraft talks about this. They existed. You go to hell if you don't believe they did. They were beings who live in cities inside the earth, hollow earth, with their own desires. See, legend of Agartha, civilization in hallow earth, cities in earth, who rose up to the surface. They entered into some kind of pact with mankind, still in prehistoric wandering stage.

But they were later defeated by sky-born aliens. I believe this, an alien is a hypothesis that must be considered, I believe. Because as a Greek religion, you know about the cults of the Olympians, the altars and temples to Zeus, Apollo and Hermes, and all the glamorous gods. This was not really the main Greek religion in the modern sense of religion. The Greek real religion, the metaphysical beliefs of the Greeks, that was the titanic religion, the mystery cults. And by the way, they are said to be different, the mystery cults from the Titans, but I don't think they were. This is my innovation. He said, humanity achieved the best and highest of which it is capable by committing an offense and must in turn accept the consequences of this, namely the whole flood of suffering and tribulations which the offended heavenly powers must in turn visit upon the human race as it strives nobly towards higher things. A bitter thought, but one which, thanks to the dignity it accords to the offense, contrasts strangely with the Semitic myth of the Fall, where, and he's talking now about the Semitic myth of the

And in this connection, it's important to remember actually the birth of Dionysus, because if Dionysus is Prometheus, I leave you with this at the end of show, the meaning of the true birth of Dionysus, I will not explain it to you, I will just tell you merely the myth, not the one you may have heard of where Dionysus was born from the thigh of Zeus, which is a kind of cutesy story that is meant to counter, you know, the story about Athena being born from the head of Zeus. But the real story of Dionysus is that he was a child born from the mating of Zeus with with Semele or otherwise with Persephone herself.
